Frequently asked questions

What format does the API use?
All endpoints return application/vnd.api+json following the JSON:API specification. Consistent resource objects, relationships, and cursor-based pagination across every endpoint.
How do I authenticate?
Authentication is via Supabase JWT. Sign up for an API key, include it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header, and your role determines access level.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The Developer tier gives you free access to the public search endpoint — perfect for evaluating the data and building prototypes before committing to a paid plan.
What markets do you cover?
The Energy API (Ofgem Tariff Information Labels) is live now. Telecoms (Ofcom Contract Summaries) and Banking (FCA Summary Boxes) APIs are planned and in development.
How often does the data change?
Tariff data changes infrequently — suppliers typically update TILs quarterly or when Ofgem announces price cap changes. Most customers poll once daily to check for updates. You pay for data access, not per-request volume.
